Opinions:
Opinion FromOpinionExplanation
majorityhe is to say amin just like the follower"When the imam pronounces amin, you should pronounce it too"
Imam MalikHe is not to pronounce aminWhen the imam says `ghayr a...', then you should say amin. This inndicates that the imam does not pronounce amin, for had he been required to pronounce amin why would the follower be asked to pronounce it after the completion of the recitation of the umm al -Kitab and before the imam's uttering of amin. The imam as the Prophet (God's peace and blessings be upon him) said, "has been appointed so that he be followed ".
