Imam Abu Hanifa,Imam MalikThere is no recitation in it, it is merely supplication.Imam Malik said: "The recitation of Fatiha in it is not practised in our land under any circumstances ". He maintained that after the first takbir Allah is to be praised and glorified, then the second takbir is to be pronounced and blessings are to be offered for the Prophet (Gods peace and blessings be upon him), then the third takbir is to be pronounced and salvation is to be sought for the dead person, then the fourth takbir is to be pronounced after which the salutation is made.
Imam Shafi,Imam AhmadFatiha is to be recited after the first takbir and the same is to be done in the remaining takbirs. They preferred the tradition of Talha Ibn Abd Allahover practice, and in their view the term salah included the prayer over the dead bearing in mind the fact that the Prophet (Gods peace and blessings be upon him) has said that "There is no prayer without the Fatiha al- Kitab" and also what is narrated from Ibn Shihab
