Imam Malik,Imam Abu HanifaFasting has greater meritNot fasting, is not the hukm, but a permissible act, and its difficult to deem the permissible act as being better than the prescribed.
Imam AhmadNot fasting is betterUnderstandable meaning of the permission of not fasting for a person is an exemption intended to remove hardship for him and when an exemption is provided, it is meritorious to relinquish the exemption. This is testified to by the tradition of Hamza ibn Amr

The saying of the Messenger of Allah (Gods peace and blessings he upon him), however, that "It is not an act of piety to fast during a journey", along with the fact that one of his last acts was not to fast, gives the impression that it is better not to fast.
Others:
Othersthis is matter of choice and none is betterBecause of the tradition of Aisha, who said, "Amza ibn Amr asked the Messenger of Allah (Gods peace and blessings be upon him) about fasting during a journey and he said, 'Fast if you like, and if you like donot'
